How to write a resume summary, with more examples

What are good bullet points for a flight attendant resume?

Each starts with a verb and says what was done. Change the details and numbers to your own; a number you cannot explain in an interview is worse than none.

  1. Performed safety demonstrations and cabin checks before every flight.

  2. Served food and drinks to up to 280 passengers on long-haul flights.

  3. Responded to in-flight medical events with first aid and ground support.

  4. Calmed anxious and disruptive passengers using de-escalation.

  5. Assisted passengers with disabilities, children traveling alone and elderly travelers.

  6. Worked as lead attendant, briefing the crew and coordinating with the pilots.

  7. Completed required yearly safety training and evacuation drills.

  8. Handled duty-free sales and cash reports.

  9. Prepared cabin reports and incident reports after flights.

  10. Received passenger commendations for service.

Which skills should a flight attendant put on a resume?

Pick the ones the job posting asks for and that you can back up with an example from your work.

Hard skills

  • Aviation safety procedures
  • Emergency evacuation
  • First aid, CPR and AED
  • In-flight service
  • Aircraft-specific training
  • Incident reporting
  • Cash and sales handling

Soft skills

  • Calm under pressure
  • Warmth
  • Teamwork
  • Adaptability
  • Cultural awareness

Licenses and certifications

  • FAA Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency (issued after airline training)
  • CPR and AED
  • First aid

Which keywords belong on a flight attendant resume?

The words recruiters and applicant tracking systems search for.

  • safety
  • passengers
  • emergencies
  • lead flight attendant
  • Boeing
  • international
  • medical
  • crew
  • complaints

Use the ones that are true for you, written the way the posting writes them, and put each where it shows something you did. A list of keywords with nothing behind it helps nobody. To keep them readable by software, choose an ATS-friendly template, and read how applicant tracking systems read a resume.

What do airlines look for on a flight attendant resume?

Customer service experience, calm under pressure and reliability, plus the basics: availability to relocate or be based anywhere, a passport and any languages.

For experienced attendants, add your aircraft qualifications, routes, lead or purser roles and any safety or medical incidents handled.

Do you need the FAA certificate before applying?

No. In the United States, airlines train new hires, and the FAA certificate is issued when you finish that training. If you already hold one, list it with the date.

Before you are hired, focus on service experience, first aid training and languages.

What do hospitality employers look for in a resume?

  • Give the pace and size of the place: covers on a busy night, rooms in the hotel, passengers on the aircraft.
  • List the certificates the job legally needs where you live, such as food safety or responsible alcohol service, with the date.
  • Mention the systems you know, for example the point-of-sale or booking software. It shortens training and managers notice.
